UConn faculty and staff are invited to join us for the Winter Holiday Celebration and Gingerbread House Decorating Competition

Friday December 8, 2023
2:00 - 4:00 p.m.
Rome Commons Ballroom

We are delighted to bring back this fun event to celebrate and express appreciation for the University's employees' continuing work and service. We encourage units and departments to attend. The two-hour event is designed to allow department staff members - in coordination with their managers - to share coverage of essential office functions and take turns attending throughout the afternoon.

Gingerbread House Decorating Competition

Twenty-five teams will participate in the Gingerbread House Decorating Competition during the Winter Holiday Celebration.

Competition Schedule

Team check-in and photographs 1:00 pm
Competition orientation 1:30 pm
Decorating begins 1:45 pm
Decorating ends 2:45 pm
Popular Voting 2:45 - 3:15 pm
Judging 2:45 - 3:45 pm
Winners Announced 3:50 pm

Mitten Drive

Guests are encouraged to bring a donation of new mittens, gloves, hats and scarves to the Winter Holiday Celebration. Items will be donated to the Windham Area Interfaith Ministry (WAIM) and the Salvation Army for distribution to local adults and children.
